I’m happy to announce our first Shabbaton ever!

What’s a Shabbaton?  For us, it will be something of a mini-kallah, a Shabbat day filled with all of the wonderful tefilah and learning, food and laughter, singing and celebration that we know from our retreats – all centered on our year-long theme: Love Your Neighbor as Yourself.

Our program is designed so that you will leave better equipped spiritually and practically to express love for your neighbors, by gaining new ideas and skills to do that.

Our Shabbaton will take place on Saturday, Apr. 28, from 9 am to 3 pm, in the same private room at The Continental Restaurant in Buffalo Grove that we used for our Community Seder last year. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.  Our morning programs will focus on the spirituality and theory of “loving your neighbor” while our afternoon will focus on practical communication skills taught by special guest teacher Michael Brandwein, author of the just-published book Growing Great Qualities in Kids.

Details, including costs and registration, are provided on this flyer: Shabbaton Flyer: Love Your Neighbor As Yourself (

I hope to share this special Shabbat with you.
