Chevre,
In the decades since I was ordained, “spirituality” has been a powerful buzzword . . . and more. It has shaped the direction of the liberal American Jewish movements and resurrected old rituals, while also giving birth to new rituals, movements and directions. In many ways, I have worked intentionally to bring insights and practices from this “new spirituality” into the communities in which I’ve worked. Yet, I still remain a practicer of “organized religion.”
In my blog later this week, I’ll think out loud about the strengths of each – and identify the elements that religion offers that spirituality doesn’t. On Shabbat morning, we’ll dialogue about my thoughts and yours on this topic.
Leslie and Kevin will host; to sign up for the potluck luncheon: www.PerfectPotluck.com/FBTO5281. For more information, contact Leslie: (847) 207-2266; [email protected]
